While trying to upload a miasma of videos for the site the other day, I left my PC on overnight so that all the videos could be uploaded overnight, rather than all my bandwidth being chewed up when I’m trying to be play Xbox!

So anyways, Freqmaster and myself had recorded the retrolols for Two Crude Dudes and Streets of Rage 3 for all your enjoyment. However when I woke up the next morning to link them to the site, I was greeted with this:

Hang on, 22 minutes is too long? Since when was that? I’ve watched whole episodes of shows on YouTube before and they were well over 22 minutes! What about something like a Dream Theater music video? That’ll be guaranteed to be longer than half an hour. So why has it spat out two of my videos for being too long. I decided to click the link to find out why it’s been rejected and it comes up with this:

So this has been in place since 9th October then? Well thanks a fucking bunch for telling us! Why have they randomly decided to limit it? I see hours and hours of complete shite on Youtube which is why maybe they have decided to limit it, but considering how much webspace exists nowadays, why not actually do some fucking housekeeping instead of a stupid blanket rule for everyone?

But its the next bit that makes it even more stupid. “You can, however, easily change your account type to Director, Comedian, Musician or Guru, which offer a variety of other features like the ability to add a custom logo, tour date information and links to other websites”. So  instead of have a video longer than ten minutes, you can add a logo. How the fuck is that an adequate replacement? Surely that should just be translated to “sorry we’ve cut your functionality, however feel free to go fuck yourself”.

And what the fuck is a guru in this context? A Hindi faith healer? On Youtube? What sort of ranking system do they have? What were they thinking?

Fuck you YouTube, I’ll probably be uploading my videos with less twatty hosting sites such as Dailymotion or Metacafe from now on. Bastards.
