Tonight I managed to finish the playthrough of Streets of Rage 2X. As I said earlier, this is a homebrew creation based on Streets of Rage 2 and 3. It’s starting to get a lot harder now with the enemies having more health and harder hits. There does seem to two random Samurai boss characters I’ve never seen before, as well as a weird motorbike level which makes no sense, ending up in the awful robot factory in SOR3 before ending with Mr X boss fight.

What did I think? It’s a good game. The special moves are ace and the combat is way more fluid. There are elements of the game which are confusing and they could have easily cut out the nonsense last part of SOR3 and stuck to the significantly better SOR2 pathway. Overall, a good game.
