Borderlands: Vincible Achievement

by on Dec.06, 2010, under Ridiculous Achievements

This achievement was a pig. No bones about it. I did eventually get it after sourcing much help from friends but at the end of the day this guy is impossible to do on your own. I’ve written a huge rant about this before and even noe after I’ve completed this achievement, it still has left a rather sour taste in my mouth. I personally do not like achievements whereby you have to do them with someone else. Some people don’t have Xbox Live or even more importantly, don’t have friends. So doing this achievement on your own is a rather arduous task. (Yes I’m aware that this is a DLC achievement and you can’t play it without Live but you see my point)

Crawmerax: cheap git

I think the most frustrating aspect of this achievement is that Crawmerax is so bloody cheap. There are minions upon minions which swamp you straight from the get go and the homing goo which pretty much incaps you straight away is nothimg but stupid. I agree that there is a great level of satisfaction once you’ve managed to kill the bugger but doesn’t ignore the copious hours of swearing prior to actually unlocking this achievement.

In summation, this achievement was one of the hardest one’s I’ve ever competed for and once it was done it felt great, exactly what an achievement should be. However, Crawmerax as a bastardy prick and cost me about 8 hours of my life swearing at a screen, throwing controllers and being an all round abusive arse! Fuck you Crawmerax!

Yes, totally agree! The thing that annoyed me most of all was even if you’re playing with more than one player, if one of you dies and starts off at the end of the corridor, while you’re walking back up to get to Crawmerax if the other players die, and no one is physically in the arena, he gains 100% of his health back! That includes re-growing any limbs you may have shot off, resulting in the previous few hours work that it took to get that far totally futile as you’re starting from scratch again! grrr!

The massive explosion of loot at the end makes it all worthwhile! He’s like some gargantuan loot pinata, and the floor end up awash with his looty goodness some kind of massive loot ballpit when he dies. Always a treat.
