Chelsea probe Sturridge claims

by on Nov.15, 2011, under Domestic Football

Was scooting  around on the Sky Sports website today when I saw this headline. Upon further reading of this article it says:

Sturridge, who is set to make his England debut on Tuesday against Sweden, was reportedly the subject of taunts from a Chelsea supporter during the UEFA Champions League tie at Genk last month.

“We will not tolerate any form of racism and have encouraged our supporters to help identify those responsible and we will track them down.”

Now considering that allegations of racism are the order of the day now with Patrice Evra crying racism every time he’s fouled it would a ubiquitous headline in todays media. But since it’s Chelsea, lets not forget who their captain and role model is, the stalwart foghorn of bigotry and adultery, John Terry. Not only is this guy one of the worst role models you could have hoped for, he’s also in a position of authority being Chelsea and worst of all, England’s captain. So are you surprised that we have Chelsea fans spouting racist abuse? I’m not. Because their leader is a disgraceful person with about as many morals as a raspberry doughnut.

While Chelsea may want to look into this allegation, perhaps they should think about their choice of captain before trying to condemn others.

Personally I’m still dismayed how we can have him lead England out on to the pitch.
